SILK & PETAL ~ A Botanical & Indigo Immersion

Kick off summer with us in the studio for a full day of hands-on ritual, as we dive into two of the most transformative natural dye processes: the ancient blue hues of the Indigo Vat and the intricate magic of Botanical Bundle Dyeing. This is a sensual exploration of plant colour on cloth ~ a day of tuning into creativity, community, and the natural world around us.

Participants will learn to extract and modify natural dyes from traditional dye stuffs, kitchen compost scraps, seasonal garden flowers, and foraged plants, as well as learn the basics of the unique dye method of the natural indigo fructose vat. We will use resist and fabric clamping techniques to create beautiful, long-lasting patterns on silk or linen.

Education on dye methods, sustainability, and plant pigment science will be woven throughout the day. Participants will leave with beautiful finished pieces to cherish, use daily, or gifted, and a foundational knowledge they can carry into their own practice.

WHAT TO WEAR

Come dressed in clothes you don't mind getting creative in ~ natural fibres like cotton and linen are ideal. Dye is part of the magic and sometimes it travels! Consider it a bonus.
